I did my first long distance walk to defeat breast cancer in 2004. That year I was celebrating my 5th year of survivorship. I have now accomplished 77 long distance walks to defeat this disease. It has become more than that. It has become a desire to make sure we never ever give up.
In 2015 I was diagnosed for a second time. With great health care and amazing support from family and friends, I continue to thrive.
Did you know that chemotheraphy stays with us long after the infusions? Did you know you can lose more than just your hair? Did you know that the threat is always with us? Yes, we don't let it slow us down, but it is there. As we strive to thrive, it is always there.
I will continue as long as I can. Thank you for helping me to continue to fight to end this disease.
